The more you read about gadgets and the more you read about devices that cost from 300 to 1200 CHF or more. I encourage you to look in the opposite direction, at the devices that cost 38 CHF. Within the last day the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 came out in the Swiss market.
With the Xiaomi Fit app you can track Sleep, heart rate, steps, kcal, moving time, standing, blood oxygen, stress, weight, PAI (more on this soon), Vo2 max, and training load.
Roomba have been around for a long time. Every time I have the opportunity to experiment and learn from a roomba robot I do. I tell it to start vacuuming and then I watch as it explores room after room, gets jammed on a chair leg, a drying thing or even under certain toilets. I also watch with frustration as it throws a bit of dirt too far, and drives by it over and over, and doesn’t pick it up.
Until the pandemic I used Facebook (FB), Twitter(TW) and Instagram(IG) daily. As pandemic solitude took its toll on me I dumped Facebook, and then I dumped Instagram. I started blogging again, and I continued to use Twitter for another two years, before finally dumping Twitter too.
Dumping Social Media Over Time For years I was a daily user of FB, TW and IG but as life became more solitary, and as trolling became more common, so it made sense to dump the social networks that made me suffer from Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO).
A growing number of mobile phones are eSIM compatible. As a result by simply turning on a phone, and selecting the eSIM option you could make a spare phone your primary phone. When I activated my current phone I chose to use an eSIM, rather than a physical sim. Whilst this is fun it does have one draw back. If you swap phones every so often you need to shift the eSIM from one device to another with less ease than switching nano sims.
I have had my Apple Watch Series Four for four or five years now and it has been warn almost every day of those for years. In that time I have exceeded my move goal by 400% six times, by 300 percent 21 times, and by 200% 194 times. I have my longest move streak lasting 76 days, and perfect weeks one hundred times. I have reached my move goal 1602 times over the years.
Twitter and YouTube want to make it impossible to block report, or ignore ads. The reason I dumped Facebook and Instagram is that I saw more ads than content by friends. In fact I saw posts by five to ten friends, out of four hundred, but unlimited amounts of ads. This reminded me of how small my Instagram reality was, but also that others were wasting my time to make money for themselves.
If I look across from my apartment I can see plenty of pigeons lined up in a row. It’s raining heavily and they are not flying. They are just sitting on the roof, letting the rain water trickle down from them onto the roof below. I assume that in this weather pigeons don’t want to get their entire body soaked. They prefer to sit and huddle.
Staying Safe I am waiting for the rain to stop before driving.
Yesterday I drove the petrol car for the first time in a while. I did it for two reasons. The first is that I didn’t feel like waiting five hours for the car to charge. Especially since it was cold, and rain was predicted. I also drove the petrol car because I wanted to run the engine and charge the battery, rather than letting it gradually degrade, from lack of use.
At the moment I am doing a favour that requires me to drive the electric car over a route that takes 25 percent of the car’s battery. This means that for every time I do the favour I have to charge the car for five hours.
About the Drive The drive from where I charge the car to home takes eight to ten percent but the drive back to charge the car takes up to 15 percent due to traffic, but also due to the climb.
Yesterday I went for a walk wearing what I have been wearing since April or May. To be fair I had an extra layer. I felt cold. I chose to walk a shorter circuit than usual. I walked just five kilometres rather than my normal eight, or more. I felt okay when my back was to the wind, or when I was sheltered by trees or hills, but not when I was facing into the wind.
